Don't despise it, milk it. At least that's what I did. Memorizing and reciting gibberish on a daily basis for a decade honed a keen memory which serves me well to this day some 35 years later.

RE: Introduce Yourself HERE!
Hi, my name is Steven Hauser, I'm a 30 year old living in Las Vegas who in the last year discovered that I am both an Atheist and a transsexual. I long considered myself Agnostic (mostly because I just didn't give it any thought), until I had to work with a super hardcore Christian who spent all day, every day, telling me I needed to read the Bible and accept Jesus' love. Upon reading the Bible and studying Christianity I realized that this was a rather disturbing set of beliefs and that I wanted no part of it. I'm trying to be open about my new found orientation (being an open Atheist is comparatively easy for me), but I'm still kinda shy. Any tips or ideas about where I can go to talk to people about either of these things would be greatly appreciated. ^_^

Hmm... just go ahead and make a thread, Xxanswers - that's what the form is for. We're all pretty relaxed here and will endeavor to answer any and all questions. You might even get more answers than you'll know what to do with.

RE: Introduce Yourself HERE!
Hello everyone.

I'm a lifelong atheist on the lookout for a forum containing people that I enjoy sharing my views with, who do likewise. If any of you were regulars in alt.atheism in the mid-to-late 90s, we might have already met. I was aa#883. Although I prefer to be called Red.

I'm also a liberal, humanist, misanthropist and philosopher.

Scotland is where I call home.

Welcome Red Celt!

I'm over in Canada, but still reunite with the clan every year.

Hiya. And which part of the blue north do you call home? My family are from a wee place called Dunoon, but I'm living in Fife just now... commuting to the university at St Andrews. I'm all studentish, in a mature kinda way.
