Omnipresent and undetectable.

You claim something is everywhere and yet you can't detect it anywhere.
You can't even describe what "it" is because you can't detect it.

It seems only logical that holy vacuum cleaners are everywhere and switched to the on position, thus eliminating all the nasty spirit gunk that clogs the everywhere holes.

^^ True until disproven^^

Insanity - doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results

How does that work then?

Can we measure it? Does it have an effect on the physical world?

If not then what relevance is it? Might as well not be there. If yes, let's perform physical experiments and find ways to make practical use of it. I'm thinking batteries, or for remote controls for televisions.

Two facts about human life:

1. Most people are born with a conscience and emotions, this helps them make good choices and they feel bad when they hurt others or commit "sins". It's natural and only a believer would think their wrong actions were paid for already via blood sacrifice magic voodoo, actually you're free to sin, you're already forgiven right? Non-believers take responsibility for themselves, are actually much less likely to commit crimes.

2. Humans can find comfort in many ways, meditation and reflection, reading a good book, hanging out with friends/family, going on long walks, etc. Receiving comfort by imagining a spirit exists can work too, doesn't make it real or better than anything else. I find comfort in research, books and conversation, no God needed or holy "spirits", actually the concept of spirits disturbs me. What works for you won't necessarily work for someone else.

You give no basis for attribution. Emotions can arise from all sorts of places not immediately recognizable to the conscious mind. Simply calming oneself to pray, for example, may have a variety of physiological or culturally conditioned effects that you feel as comfort. Upbringing or natural empathy can instill in you a dislike for or guilt over what you call sin. And even if we ignore natural causes, there's a host of other religions and belief systems, all with their own gods, spirits, or other agents of emotional influence to offer. On what basis in evidence do you identify these as being caused by the Christian Holy Spirit, rather than any of the other possible explanations?

So,

1) What is a 'Soul' ? Consider

2) What is 'Sin' ? Consider ( I do believe Mathilda has already been asking about this? )

3) "He gave you comfort" ? 'Who' gave you comfort? 'How' did they give you this comfort? So what. Why should others care about this comfort you've been given?

Thumbsup

Much cheers to all.
