It's mad to think...
On christmas in 1914 some soldiers came out of their trenches and met in no-mans land to talk, share a bit of food and to kick a few footballs about.

I feel so much, and yet I feel nothing.
I am a rock, I am the sky, the birds and the trees and everything beyond.
I am the wind, in the fields in which I roar. I am the water, in which I drown.

I read a piece on a website called skeptoid or something like that that claims it is true. I was not there so cannot claim anything, but check out skeptoid and see what they say. And if I have the name wrong let me know I can look that up

It makes one wonder....

Which is more fake?

The religion they shared, that allowed them to get along - or the religion they shared that allowed them to kill each other in the first place????

One bigassed crock of shit, if you ask me...

More detailed article here.

Ended when an allied commanding officer shot an unarmed German soldier to get the party started again after his men refused to resume hostilities as ordered.

Yeah it's true. Yakherder's correct.

NOTE: Member, Tomasia uses this site to slander other individuals. He then later proclaims it a joke, but not in public.
I will call him a liar and a dog here and now.

A memorial stands on the field where the truce took place.

Thanks, I enjoyed both your links. Good Christmas reading.

So many cats, so few good recipes.

Here in the no man's land of the frozen wastes of Ulaanbaatar, it's nearly 9am on the day after christmas day.

TTA seems to have succumbed to some kind of festive lethargy.

Angry

Can we please get back to normal and resume hostilities?

Thank you.
