It's a pretty darn good game with hundreds of maps to choose from, so it doesn't get boring all too quickly. We were looking at Galactic Civ 3 too, but that game has gotten flack for having a useless combat system (you can't even sound a retreat). What's the point of building your very own flagship if you can't bring it properly into battle.

Sid Meier's Spaceships.

Every reviewer I've seen tears that game a new one. Not gonna touch it, even at a discount.

On that topic...

For the love of Beelzebub, if you are going to buy Civ5, buy it while it's cheap because it is, in my opinion, not worth it's full price.

I have Civ 4 lying around somewhere. Got it when I was a kid and was more of a Total War player, so it's somewhere now collecting dust. Unless somebody borrowed it and never returned it.

A good buddy of mine and I have played the fuck out of that game (series?).

Makes for great drunken six hour middle of the night sessions, to be sure.

I never played a LAN or online game with it Sad It would be awesome though. I used to have the vanilla version but I'd like to get Rebellion although I would also like a way to disable the Titans in a skirmish game.

You also want all of the DLC, as it vastly improves the experience.

I'm kind of bummed because I don't think Civ: Beyond Earth had the kind of success that would warrant the investment in an expansion or two to really bring that game up to par.

I got the "Complete Edition" last year, so unless I was sold a lie (given the gaming industry of late it would not surprise me), I ought to have the DLC in my experience already.

I stand by my belief that it's not worth the full price I had to pay.

I was looking for Rome II to be extra-special cheap; I guess that ain't happening. Then I got stuck reading reviews for ARK and EUIV. The reviews for well-made games on that site are pretty excellent. Big Grin
