I have no idea what you are saying here, Q. Your analogy makes no sense. But granting your analogy, what is the prophetic equivalent of a spontaneous abortion or a child who is born horribly mutated? And is that also a "fulfillment of a pregnancy"?

Doc

Sure, happy to explain. "Fulfill" is different than "fill" or "complete". I enjoyed having a baby in the house but still more enjoyed having a child and young adult later, when their life potential became fulfilled in large part. Have you looked up examples of some of the many doubly-fulfilled prophecies yet as suggested?

Thanks.

I'm told atheists on forums like TTA are bitter and angry. If you are not, your posts to me will be respectful, insightful and thoughtful. Prove me wrong by your adherence to decent behavior.

1. What if your wife had miscarried or if your child was born with Trisomy 13 or anencephaly? Would you have considered your "pregnancy fulfilled"?

2. Please quote some examples of "double fulfillment"- sounds kinky.

The gospels are not history.

Yeah you wichsh I would stop explaining why the future tense was used, and your prophesy bullshit is all wet. There are many books by REAL scholrs about the role of a prophet in Hebrew society. You REALLY should read one.

Prophesy os not "prediction" of the future, as you have been told many times. That was NOT the role of a prophet. When "peshers" STARTED to be interpreted as omens during the Apocolyptic Period, that changed. Isaiah had NO INTENTION and no knowledge he was making a "prediction". Omens were forbidden.

You need a Biblical education, Q.

I don't think I need to repeat myself yet again on this topic. Everyone who reads the scriptures in English or the original languages can find hundreds of examples of prophecies that came true between days and years later after their utterance. You may have the last word.

Only by interpreting them as omens ... and none are actually SPECIFIC things that could have been one event and not another. There are at least as many that didn't come true. I realize your life is BUILT on this false and ignorant notion of what prophecy is, but that's not my problem. And BTW, you have no idea what he did or said. You forgot to provide evidence for you fairy tale.

You have to be careful about Chas. Few realize how insidious Canadian Supremacy is. These people have infiltrated key positions in US Media, the space program and science.

Taking refuge in the "I answered you already" defence Big Grin You're pretty transparent Q. We answered your answers already too.

RE: Jesus Christ, A Pointless Sacrifice
You need to read a book by Norman Cohn https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Pursui...Millennium
It's a comprehensive analysis of messianic millenarianism over the last couple of thousand years and it shows how this idea is part of the human condition. The interesting thing about messianic cults is that they only begin when the messiah fails to appear. It's a form of denial. All of them are the same.

So, in the case of Jesus, he didn't get much of a following and he loses whatever fight he is fighting and is strung up or whatever happened to him. It's only after that the cult develops, when he actually doesn't come back. People then say he is going to come back some time. Even Muslims say he is going to return and slay the "false Messiah at the gates of Lydda". Shia Muslims believe he will return and be greeted by the Mahdi.

But it's all a psychological reaction to a loss and nothing more. Read Cohn if you don't believe me. You'll thank me.

If you finish connecting these dots you’ll see a Canadian as US President!

Doc

What does question #1 have to do with God's ability to complete/fulfill prophecy?

As for question #2, please do the research. There are dozens of examples.
