A human has some knowledge, God has all the knowledge (omniscient)
A human has some power, God has all the power (omnipotent)
A human loves some people, God loves everyone (omnibenevolent)
A human occupies some space, God occupies all space (omnipresent)

And so on and so forth. God is basically a human with all his positive and neutral qualities increased to infinity. Laugh out load

Like the hymn: "My Father is Omnivorous."

Heh heh. They need to add that to the "O" 's.
Omnipotent
Omnibenevolent
Omniscient
Omnipresent
and ....
Omnivorous. Big Grin

RE: Jesus: Did People Needed Something More Human or More Humane...
Where you all miss the point is that people back then had no concept of a metaphysical world. The Greeks and Romans had god figures who were real but inaccessible, up mountains, in the stars. Egyptian pharaohs were gods. When a pharaohs died he was supposed to come back to life as a living creature which is why he was buried with all his "stuff" The Roman Claudian emperors who ended with Nero thought of themselves as gods. If the New Testament was adopted by Rome and the Jews had been in Egypt then when the NT talks of Jesus as being the son of God, in the context of the time, it is more likely to be suggesting he was the son of a man who was considered to be a god.

You then can examine the historical record for a religion which had a messianic, avenging warrior son figure as its gods and that religion is the Judaism into which this story fits, not what is written in the Old Testament and what we now know as modern Judaism.

RE: Jesus: Did People Needed Something More Human or More Humane...
My theory is that Jesus is made up from two or three people. A father who is a king leads a rebellion against Rome around the time of the New Testament Jesus and two sons who are twins and lead revolt in the 70's. These are Jesus and his twin Thomas. Jesus is a military leader and Thomas is a preacher. Jesus is about to lose and he decides that Thomas will be identified by Judas as Jesus so Jesus can escape and rally the forces and spring Thomas. Jesus is caught and thrown off a cliff but survives while Thomas is crucified. He asks why his Lord has forsaken him because he has not been rescued but after he passes out he is taken off the cross by Joseph Flavius who knows him and knows he is the wrong guy.

Josephus, who is a Hellenistic thinker, then has a great idea of writing the history of these revolts and feeding the locals in Judea a view of their leaders as pacifists while Thomas makes off for Srinigar.

Which is possible whereas wrestling with concepts such as immaculate conception is like arguing over the colour of an invisible rabbit.

Facepalm
Fuck.
Nice dot connecting, except that's NOT what they thought happened to the pharaohs. But do feel free to make up shit.

"What did they think the afterlife would be like?
"It varied depending on whether you were royal or nonroyal. If you were nonroyal, you would have all the best things available in the Egypt that you lived in, with none of the nastiness. And if you were poor, you could come back much wealthier.
For kings, though, while they could enjoy all the best food and drink and entertainment, they also became one with the gods. ."

Did you know that one third of English men are direct descendents of William the Conqueror and that the English monarch is said to be descended from Jesus himself? The Anglo-Saxons were a tribe descended from two men called Ing and Saco who according to legend were the sons of Manu, i.e. Immanuel, or Jesus. So those bumper stickers may be on cars of Jesus's kin. Hey, you never know.

Yeah sure BB. They were going to ride around on their chariots as puffs of vapour. It's hard to throw your spear if you are just an invisible mist. Why do you think they had their bodies embalmed others than that they would use them again? They could only eat and drink if they were alive, in the real world not some imaginary heaven.

Thanks by the way. I like making up shit. I am following a Judaic tradition.

Here I thought it was some pat of France that was ruled by the descendants of Jesus and Mary Magdalene for a few centuries in the pre AD 1000 time..

Thanks for demonstrating you also know NOT ONE thing about ancient Egyptian culture, and how it is, you feel free to cook up the bullshit that pops into your ignorant brain.

The things in every culture, (including ancient Judaism) have ancient roots.
Your shit, as we have all seen, is rooted in one modern root. Your ass.
