That's what it sounds like to me - that we cannot be saved by grace through faith (and cannot obtain grace) without the gift from God. And it is by grace alone that we can be saved. Am I reading in too much there?

Nope you got it.

It's saying that the only way to receive faith is to be given it by God. Without that gift, there can be no salvation. This is also an argument between elect/non-elect.

No real comment here. I'm just happy to see you posting again Heart

Good point. It's funny how Jesus cured a few, but didn't eliminate disease and disability completely for all. Nor did he stop the natural disasters. You know, the kind of stuff that "real" gods do.

He's planning on you saying that, and he already knows what he's going to say in response. He's known since before he created Adam.

Ever wonder if god knows what he is gonna do before he does it?

Problem is Rob Halford, Bruce Dickinson, Tony Iommi, Joe Satriani, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton... are the gods even though they are less popular than Beiber (who is definately not a god).

The Beatles were more popular than jebus. Angel

But Clapton is god!

Jesus wins the popularity contest
Not to Goodwin out or anything, but I heard Hitler was pretty popular.

I don't think I've ever heard that argument twisted that way.

It's also very odd when you acknowledge the popularity of Mohammed, but another thing many Christians like to gloss past.
