But then, I'm an asshole.

I had it loaded and ready to go, a friend of mine had posted that on my page just last week, but I decided against it. Even my wife suggested posting it. So, since my wife is the coolest person I know, that means you're not an asshole, you're probably pretty damn cool.

Yikes. The comments section: where discourse goes to die.

"If we are honest—and scientists have to be—we must admit that religion is a jumble of false assertions, with no basis in reality.
The very idea of God is a product of the human imagination."

Quote:HER: It's absolutely unfair and is done all the time against Christians. However, I freely admit that there are Christians out there who's (sic) views I don't agree with. I also believe there are Athiests out there that you and I don't agree with and I believe this meme is directed at them.

And the victim card comes out!

Why dose this always come up. Even with my christian friends they "love" being persecuted. "We're the ones being picked on we're the ones that people resent, we're the victims here. You Atheists are bully's why can't I just believe what I want to believe."

CS "So were do you stand on abortion?"

Christian: "Well I'm a christian so..."

CS: "If a person is hungry, what should be done?"

Christian: "Well the Christian thing to do is..."

CS "In 2009, several newspapers in Assam reported that about fifteen armed Hmar militants, members of the Manmasi National Christian Army, tried to force Hindu residents of Bhuvan Pahar, Assam to convert to Christianity!"

Christian: "Not all Christian's are like that stop trying to put labels on me!"

It's always convenient that God always sides with the individual believers view.

When they throw around their religions name a image in your head i supposed to pop in. "A christian believes X, A christian is X" So when you get groups of people that identify as Christian and are acting under that label and flag. How am suppose to distinguish between the Christians that are right and the Christians that are wrong? Because I would imagine many Christian wouldn't want to be affiliated with groups that force people at gun point to convert, or murder in the name of that god. But the book that they wave around it full of such actions that gives the thumbs up for such attrositys.

Don't Live each day like it's your last. Live each day like you have 541 days after that one where every choice you make will have lasting implications to you and the world around you. ~ Tim Minchin

RE: Just when I thought I was out, she pulls me back in
She has played that card too often. In our earlier debates, which I have posted here and on my blog in the past, she once preempted with the victim card about a subject I wasn't even discussing with her, she just outright started saying the Catholic Church was unfairly treated for the pedophilia outbreak, that they were held to a different standard than teachers or other sects. I wanted to throttle her.

What??? Shocking Can't you tell the difference between True Christians™ and hypocrites?
