I disagree. If your NOT familiar with evolution and these debates Ken Ham sounded very respectable and an equal opponent. He used arguments from authority when posting a few young earth creationist scientists who do have genuine scientific careers (E.Coli microbiologist, astrophysicist who has published in secular journals and inventor of MRI) Then he made the case that there are many more professional scientists afraid to speak up against evolution due to fear & intimidation by the secular/atheist lobby. These arguments in this debate sounded convincing.
Few people have read many books on evolution in order to critique Ken Ham (eg
Evolution: What the Fossils Say and Why It Matters by Prothero, Donald) - and therefore easily misled.

You don't need to know anything at all about evolution to understand that a tree with 9000+ yearly rings or an ice rod with 680,000 annual summer/winter-cycle layers is older than 4000 years.

And I would suggest that very few literate people if any have no conception or understanding at all of evolution.

THANK YOU for making me feel like I wasn't crazy for focusing on this!!!!

It was the most face palm worthy thing he said, considering the entire anti-evolution platform revolves around an "absence" of intermediate species and "unprovable" macroevolution. Big Grin

A poll on Christian Today shows that 92% of the 37,000 people (now 46,000) who voted thought Bill Nye won the debate.

The 'institute for creation research' is calling evolutionary science dogma. Their one scientific reference to support their position is published in the 'About Answers Research Journal'.
