On the last day of the year, my
first graders gave me beautiful handwritten letters. As I read them aloud,
my emotions got the better of me, and I started to choke up.
"I’m sorry," I said. "I’m having a hard time reading." One of my students said, "Just sound it out." —Marcia Behr, Reader's Digest I'm a creationist... I believe that man created God. |

RE: Kids, perceptive, goofy and well just generally entertaining.
My wife was driving with my 2 sons when they were about 6 and 8 (they are 13 and 15 now) when my youngest asks what happens when you die. My wife said no one really knows and different people believe different things and she explained the atheistic view, the idea of going to heaven and the idea of reincarnation. My son decides that he believes in reincarnation and that he used to be George Washington. My elder son says "no you weren't" and my youngest shoots back with "yes I was! I was the father of our country so you have to be nice to me!"
To this day George Washington is his favorite historical figure. Shackle their minds when they're bent on the cross When ignorance reigns, life is lost |

Thank you.
I try. Some days I'm better at it than others. Shackle their minds when they're bent on the cross When ignorance reigns, life is lost |

Twas the week before Xmas 45 years ago, and my 4 year old was riding with me as we passed thru an industrial area. He blurted out "I know why stores don't have chimneys. They don't need presents!"

Can I do two? My daughter's 4th birthday we went to a cousin's farm off into Wisconsin and early on her birthday morning she came in where her mother and I were sleeping and said with wide eyes"Did you hear that?" We listened and soon a rooster crowed. "That is a rooster" her mom said. "I know she said but did you hear what it said? It said 'Happy Birthday' " And as it sounded again I could hear it in the noise it made. Next time you hear a rooster match Happy birthday with its crowing and you'll probably hear it too.

I ask my middle two girls (They're three) one morning at the breakfast table "Do you know where milk comes from?"
They nod in unison. They know the answer. "Where?" I ask. "The store!" |

My Jack Russell Rocky would bring the tennis ball up to his thigh, and whoever was holding him would throw it. He was distracted long enough to get the bottle or the mother in the room ![]() He and Frank had a strong bond going, and one time we left Rocky home when we visited. Just walking, Frank greets us at the door, pulls my wife's leg aside to look and says, "Rocky?". Mary says we left him home. He slaps her thigh and turns away disgusted. |
