It's a series, and it's just called Postal.

Meh, I'm busy being fair and killing everyone equally in the new Postal 2 expansion pack.

RE: Kill the F*ggot
As a gay person myself, I'm not really offended by this (I've heard worse)
And considering all the shit I've had to deal with from some of the bitchy, preening queens that inhabit the gay community, I'd probably get a kick out of playing this myself. If it didn't look so awfully made!Tongue

Also, I'd be interested to know if this was a game about killing Christians or Muslims; would it get the same response on here? Consider

You can bet your ass they'd whine and cry that they are being persecuted.

RE: Kill the F*ggot
Christopher Hitchens once said "If you deny someone the chance to speak, you deny yourself the chance to listen."

I tend to agree with this philosophy, and even hate speech is, I feel, a chance to look into and observe a person's character. I don't want people to be forced to hide the true dicks that they are. Plus, I doubt that the high majority would actually agree and support the perceived message of this game anyways.

I would just kindly walk away from the racist or the bigot instead of making him shut up. I think that by making a forceful (that is to say, do anything like forcing him to shut up) attempt at stamping out is making the issue have the power we deasperately need neutered.

However, in this case, Steam is allowing it to be put on ITS service, and retains the right the pull it. They have the right to choose what represents them, and what games they want to sell on their platform. Just like any TV station. They aren't government programs, they are private businesses that have their own rules. You use the service, you obey its rules.

If it's now being distributed independently, then I will just make a mental note that this is just another cancer of the Internet and file it away with the likes of my little pony porn and the like.

Thing is this is a message that has been heard already many times. I think even Hitch would not want to listen to it again. If there isn't backlash then it leaves others more comfortable with releasing more stuff that spouts this anti-gay stuff which is just adding to the problem. Yes, Steam have their own rules but they are a business and most businesses should know offering products that offend or represent their business in a bad light is not a good idea. It's best for Steam to avoid stuff like that and not allow games that promote hate to be released also I'm pretty sure Steams ToS states offensive content is not allowed so why they even allowed it when it very clearly violated its ToS is beyond me. If no one fights back and just allows it to happen then it won't solve any problems. Speaking up and defending against hate is the only way to keep it from going out of control.

You misunderstood. I am in favor of Steam pulling the game.

Ah, I must have misunderstood. My apologies.

Riiiiiiiight .......but the guy who is actively using his profession to be professionally offensive, discriminatory, and incite hatred/violence towards a social stigmatized and frequently assaulted group is "alright in your book". No that guys not small and unthinking and he is certainly not backing injustice. He's a cool dude cause he's an asshole for assholes sake just like you.Rolleyes

Put your dumb fuck opinion back in the Crackerjack box you pulled it from kid, no one is impressed with another one of your tedious and pedantic attempts at counterculture social commentary. You lack the intelligence or the wit to have anything of merit or importance to say.
