Nope, don't want immortality.

But I like the thing your dad says. My grandmother used to have a little gem she would throw out when someone died..."People dying who haven't ever died before." Confused me as a kid but as I got older it made me grin when I heard it.

Curing death would yield to entrenched conservative interests ruling indefinitely while the rest eke out meagre existences and the world and environment suffer under the tyranny of the powerful. Rather than just being able to wait for the old generation to die out the young will be powerless indefinitely and armed resistance will be the only means of progress.

Let's not rush into it.

Give me your argument in the form of a published paper, and then we can start to talk.
