Yeah, I understood why an angel for Los Angeles but they didn't combine it with the Olympic flame, they combined it with a setting sun. To me that signifies an ending or a death and is hardly the right motif for the Olympic games. They also emphasized the theme 'follow the sun' which just compounds the failure.

Not the setting sun, the wing. It is the wing that resembles Olympic torch flame graphics.

If you say so.... I don't see that shape as a flame (unless maybe one being blown out if I stretch my imagination) and the article doesn't claim that was the inspiration. I guess flames are in the eye of the beholder.

I thought it was a slight nod to the Nike swoosh with it's shape since ya know, nike-Marathon tale n all that.
