RE: What did you eat today?
Had some country-fried steak and green beans for supper, now I'm craving chicken soup.

RE: What did you eat today?
Steak, mashed taters and green beans. My first successful attempt at steak, turns out that you get what you pay for. Finally ponied up for some good cuts and they were fantastic. Lightly marinaded with olive oil and some salt, pepper and thyme. Cooked medium rare (slightly overcooked if you ask me, but I'm learning), yummy.

But now I have come to believe that the whole world is an enigma, a harmless enigma that is made terrible by our own mad attempt to interpret it as though it had an underlying truth.

RE: What did you eat today?
Soaked a bunch of mixed legumes overnight (many types of beans and lentils etc.), going to put a small pork roast and onions in the crockpot soon (after browning both and deglazing the pan and using the liquid in the crock), then will add beans and also fresh herbs from my deck, later some tomatoes and summer squash still in the garden. Then will cook a rice mix of various types of rice including wild.

Somehow I got a craving for this yesterday... I taste as I go and add this or that. I don't make it often but it is always very satisfying, hits a spot. I flavor it differently depending on my mood - it has been like a stew, a chili, with Italian tomato sauce or as curry. It's always good.

For breakfast, oatmeal and Greek yogurt, which is a surprisingly delicious combination. For lunch, avocado and tomato. I skipped on the spinach for some reason. I will be having veggies tonight, though.
