RE: What's for Dinner? (or supper, or lupper, or the last meal of the day)
For father's day I was going to make my pot roast. Husband said no.

He wanted me to make Chili Verde, napoles and tres leche cake for dessert.

So I've been cooking all day today.

He'd better know how much I Heart him. Because I'd never do this for just anyone.

Edit: I've never made a Tres Leche cake before and nearly panicked when I poured the glacé over the top...

I thought no waaaaay. But after a few minutes it was mostly soaked in.

The directions said to store overnight in the fridge. So that's where it is...

He better appreciate all this...

Last night it was BLTs - fresh tomatoes and fresh bread. Mmmm.

Tonight it's steak, french fries, and salad. Drooling

My mom is doing some cooking for Father's Day today. It'll be a beef roast, with roast noodles, roast potatoes & carrots, fresh bread, sweet corn from last summer (we freeze a bunch every year), deviled eggs. My grandma will be brining a macaroni casserole and angel food cake. Can't wait!!! Drooling

I hope that the world turns, and things get better. But what I hope most of all is that you understand what I mean when I tell you that, even though I do not know you, and even though I may never meet you, laugh with you, cry with you, or kiss you, I love you. With all my heart, I love you. - V for Vendetta

There used to be this restaurant when we lived in California that made the absolutely best BLTs --fresh nicely toasted bread, butter lettuce, the most amazing tomato....and the bacon was to die for....

My husband used to tease me badly anytime we went there and he'd order something exotic for himself and the BLT for me -- because he just knew if he ordered anything else on the menu for me, I'd pout about it.

Sometimes I'd go a bit crazy and ask for a slice of avocado. He would pretend to be shocked and ask if I was really sure. Wink

There are honestly few things I enjoy more.

Btw, dinner tonight is left over chili verde and cake. Smile
