I need to try Vegemite. Do you just smear it on toast or put veggies with it like a sandwich?

The flavor is very strong. The correct way to eat it is to smear a very very small amount on toast and then gob some butter on top. I am fucked up so I spread it like peanut butter. You would choke if you did that though. Study up on it before you try it. Watch YouTube videos and stuff.

What it does is give foods a Umami flavor. It is made from yeast so it's vegan friendly. I like adding it to gravy for a savory flavor.

No not really my friend, I genuinely can't abide the taste of Vegemite but love Marmite its funny both are yeast extract but couldn't be more different, I think you mentioned its the same for you but in reverse, its a funny old world Wink

I can eat and enjoy Marmite if it's in small amounts, I'm mostly pulling your chain. I can eat Vegemite by the spoon. The Marmite is just so strong.

They have some similar items in the US now - you find it where you find your bouillon cubes or broths. It will be in small jars and sold as veggie bouillon paste or some such. Made of a bunch of veggies and yeast. It's a dark, thick paste and it tastes the same as Marmite. Almost. It's tasty and good for you. I use it on bread some, but mostly as seasoning. Gravies, or rubbed on meat before roasting or grilling, or anything crockpot.

RE: What did you eat today?
Got called in last night and had to go to work too quick to make a midnight snack or even grab leftovers, so I raided the "kitchen" and had 3 peanut butter jelly sandwiches over the course of the night lol. And then I got home and remembered the dog has a vet appointment this morning so... Cereal again, and holy Censored I'm tired. They needed people so bad they offered me a 9am to 9pm even though I just got off a 6:45pm to 6:45am. But even I've got my limits Tongue.

Priorities:
Coffee
Vet appointment
Bed

Oh yeah and it's snowing Laughat

The correct way to eat it is to spread it on toast, throw that piece of toast away, and use peanut butter. Yes
