It's not that hard, especially Ubuntu. It's not entirely easy either, granted. But Ubuntu is very point and click. It does the job. Especially if you get your son or whoever to set it up for you Anjele, it's zero outlay - no expense - for me that's worth considering as an option. If you want me to walk you through installing it, that's also fine.
