Lee Rigby beheaded, Religion of peace at it again?
What are your thoughts about this crime?

It's tragic. I think some keep saying its the UK or US's fault, but I don't think those types want peace of any kind. I think if they werent fighting with us..they'd be fighting more amoung themselves between the more radical types and the other people.

We saw this in Afghanistan with the Taliban. They truly believe, for example, women should be uneducated. They shouldn't be taught to even read.

All it takes is a few corrupt individuals.

Just for the record.

I know it's not all Muslims doing this kind of thing, it was two guys.

However the religious motivation behind it is relevant.

That was why I clarified my remark. I think most people are just concerned with feeding their families and living life. But there are more radical types who seem to prey on fears and twist things to such a degree and use religion...much like our creationists who demand ID be taught in schools.

What's the saying haters gotta hate?

I think some people are using excuses to just further their own corrupt agenda. But we also have to know we can't fix that. Their own people have to stand up and say enough.

Oppression leads to a sense of forced helplessness. Like the experiment done on dogs. They can't save themselves...

I guess.

Your post made me think of the idea of identity, and how religious thinking helps you adopt the absurd into your identity.

For instance Muslims although born and raised in another country still have deep feelings about a place they've never visited.

Same with Christians, and the state of Israel.

Perhaps that's where the problem is with people like this, adopting the absurd as part of you.

Same place Pat Robertsons outrage is when someone kills a doctor that performs abortions.

Blaise Pascal said words to the effect, that there was nothing as bad as religion to bring out extreme evil in man............. and he was Christian, a philosopher, and scientist.Angel

You are your own emphasis.
So I say nothing.
