RE: Legalizing Prostitution
Its illegal for the customers, the whores are not punished at all but are offered counseling and career advice assistance.

Being desperately poor, abused or sexually exploited is not a crime. But johns,
pimps and other sexual predators perpetrate criminally abusive behaviors and should be
appropriately charged with those crimes.
While legalization is a failed social experiment, Sweden has had excellent success
both criminalizing sexual predation while at the same time assisting people in getting out of
prostitution. Since the 2000 Swedish law on prostitution was implemented (arresting
johns), trafficking into Sweden has almost completely stopped. (that bit is probably bullshit)

Theism is to believe what other people claim, Atheism is to ask "why should I".

RE: Legalizing Prostitution
So now you're saying the prostitutes should be completely immune from the law regarding their line of work??
While the middle aged family man with 6 kids and wife should be heavily fined and/or arrested??
And that's fair how?

If I'm a hooker (lol) and I know that the worse that can happen to me is I get a light tap on the wrist, than I'm not gonna stop...

It's a sexiest PoV IMO. Yes there are male prostitutes, but most are women and when people think prostitutes (especially "working a corner") they think females. So you're saying only the males are responsible, which is sexiest.

I don't see why prostitutes should get a free ride (and that's exactly what it is). If it's illegal than they're braking the law, it's that simple.
The vast majority of crime is committed by poor people, why do prostitutes get a free ride in your book and note the local hood who robbed a gas station??

Its like Combating Spam, if you target the dickheads who buy the fake Viagra, and think their uncle Bill was actually a Nigerian prince, you kill off demand.
Kill demand, no need for the supply.
As besides, wouldn't you rather arrest some douche crying about his wife finding out, than a drug crazed violent hooker spitting at you and kicking the car windows out. .

Theism is to believe what other people claim, Atheism is to ask "why should I".

Spore
http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prostitut...etherlands
the report from Karina Schaapman about prostitution shows that almosr all the violent pimps and exploited prostitutes are not local Dutch but foreigners. This means that legalizing it works and make it safer, because otherwise holand' prostitutes would also be exploited. So it's an immigration and human trafficking issue. And Job Cohenstitution side does NOT want to criminalize it again, they do want to leave it decriminalized, they just want to get a better grip on the trafficking of foreigners.

I don't really like going outside.
It's too damn "peopley" out there....

RE: Legalizing Prostitution
It should be legalized, even if it is a terrible line of work, there are other equal or even worse kinds of work that aren't illegal. Making it legal at least we would provide the prostitutes with labour laws protection

Legalized prostitution is fine.

Make it so everywhere.

Posts like this demonstrate that your position is almost entirely driven by emotion and conflicted views on sex.

You are not being at all rational about this.

Skepticism is not a position; it is an approach to claims.
Science is not a subject, but a method.
