Lenny Esposito v. Richard Carrier
Seems to me that Mr. Esposito won this debate. Not that he convinced me but Dr. Carrier simply did not present his case well. His main error was in letting Esposito take the lead from the outset. He seemed to always be reacting to Esposito, rather than being proactive, and thus comes off as weak.

For instance, he allows Esposito to present his "cumulative case." This may be an effective technique in a court of law but not peer review, a point which Carrier should have driven home.

Even if God and Jesus existed and I could live forever just by believing in them, I'm not so sure that eternal hellfire would be worse than having the omnipotent psychopath and his bastard kid looking over me for all eternity.

I saw the closing argument from Esposito coming from a mile away. [Image: 3xNuwIr.gif]

RE: Lenny Esposito v. Richard Carrier
Carrier is much better in writing. He's a real stickler about documenting and citing everything in both his arguments and critiques.
