First, please fix your quote tags. Very hard to read.

Second, how is that any different than saying it is a separation between church and state? It states that social order does not depend upon, and should not depend upon, the mandates of the church. In fact, reading the VERY QUOTE you have posted it is stating that it is simply a rejection of supernatural law governing this world.

I'm so fucking sorry.

The quote I give does not mean that - it means that all doctrines are to be considered for review. the quote explicitly sates that, "Secularism is not an argument against Christianity," and it does not have anything about order.

It's just that we atheist/humanists recognize that our doctrinaire is more reasonable, and are apt to reject religious doctrine because we cannot rely upon it for Truth.

If "secularism," does not provide for the just contest of arguments - what term does? That is what a secular republic is, and it is what the Christians understand, "secular," to describe.

Humanism - ontological doctrine that posits that humans define reality
Theism - ontological doctrine that posits a supernatural entity creates and defines reality
Atheism - political doctrine opposed to theist doctrine in public policy

That quote pretty much says that secularism ignores religion, considering only that which is founded in this life.

Are you claiming that religion is not founded in this life - you think religion is founded by god???

So is "Secularism," the term for what I am defining "Atheism?"

Humanism - ontological doctrine that posits that humans define reality
Theism - ontological doctrine that posits a supernatural entity creates and defines reality
Atheism - political doctrine opposed to theist doctrine in public policy

RE: Let's define atheism, and other misnomers
I haven't been following this thread. Has Trainwreck finally accepted that atheism means a lack of a belief in "god/s" yet? I feel like this thread should not be 30 pages long considering that's all you need to know about it.

No. If he did, there would be nothing more to talk about.
