Lex retro agit or first victim of Holocaust bill.
Polish League Against Defamation lodged a case against the website of Pagina 12, a newspaper in Argentina using the new Holocaust bill. RDI accused the newspaper and its journalist Federico Pavlovsky of “an action intended to harm the Polish nation and the good reputation of Polish soldiers.”.

Argentinian media answered to it by republishing text and photos on another 11 portals - it's just hilarious to see how clownish nationalists are responsible for what they would call "propagating wrong version of Poland history". Before complaint was lodged article may or may not have been popular, now it certainly is.

But here is something even more interesting - article was published on 18.12.2017, before law entered into being. One would think that Lex retro non agit rule (respected by Polish constitution) will work here. One would be mistaken - for PiS&co lex retro agit.

Case is even more juicy when one consider that Minister of Justice claimed that bill will not be used to charge anyone - quite the curiosity. Why make law and not use it? Unknowable are PiS ways it seems.

Yes it does. Didnt you read my post about the AfD suggesting german language should be included into our constitution. The same AfD which publishes its political program in russian language as well (for russian immigrants with german ethnicity)?

What else but stupidity one can expect from nationalists?
