Links and relations
Usually when we talk about relations and links, it involves three things: two objects that are linked, and the link between them. However, is there anything inherently implausible or contradictory about there being nothing in a universe except for an object and a link to it? In other words, can there be just a link and an object to which the link is attached?

Links and relations are, by definition, connections between two things. But why can't one of those two things be the link or relation itself?

borg?

Wait no, your spelling is too good. Carry on.

What is this "link" of which you speak?

If we came from dust, then why is there still dust?

Define your terms... you keep waffling between "link" and "relation" and I'm not sure what you mean by either term.

Any given object is already itself a series of relationships between innumerable atoms. Atoms are relationships between many subatomic particles. So what object is it that is only a single object? An isolated subatomic particle? If you try to separate quarks you produce even more quarks, so that doesn't work to isolate one object from other objects. At the level of quantum strangeness, I don't think you can discuss separate objects at all.

In other words, to the best of my knowledge your hypothetical situation never arises in nature because there are no discrete and isolated objects.

RE: Links and relations
So sorry. But THIS is what we usually think of when we think of *relations* and *links*. Weeping
