Lol. Laugh out load I remember that fudge scene from Christmas Story. That and the sexy leg lamp.

My parents didn't want me cussing when I was a kid until I got a job and started paying taxes then they told me I could curse till the air was blue, all day long if I wanted. That seemed to be their standards for using curse words, working a job. Until that day arrived I needed to learn more interesting words, like "prestidigitation", cause it was fun to say. Or "stoic" or the great word used by Edgar Allan Poe..."tintinnabulation" in his poem The Bells.

HEAR the sledges with the bells --
Silver bells !
What a world of merriment their melody foretells !
How they tinkle, tinkle, tinkle,
In the icy air of night !
While the stars that oversprinkle
All the heavens, seem to twinkle
With a crystalline delight ;
Keeping time, time, time,
In a sort of Runic rhyme,
To the tintinnabulation that so musically wells
From the bells, bells, bells, bells,
Bells, bells, bells --
From the jingling and the tinkling of the bells.

I had funny parents. I actually memorized Edgar Allan Poe poems when I was a kid because of all the interesting words.

I think I just took this thread in a different direction. Sorry.

Skepticism is not a position; it is an approach to claims.
Science is not a subject, but a method.

It's not something I'm going to go out of the way to teach my daughter.
But when she does learn it we are going to teach her that there is a time and a place for that kind of language.
