But as if to knock me down, reality came around
And without so much as a mere touch, cut me into little pieces

You clearly haven't considered the fallout of your decision to keep voting for more of the same even as it's obvious that the system is broken -- and you want to tell me I'm not considering the consequences?

Spare me your unwarranted condescension. You can talk down to me when you are actually my superior.

Until then, you can, yeah, go fuck yourself ... with a cactus or a pineapple, matters not to me.

No, it didn't. Trump won Texas by 700,000 votes. My vote wouldn't have changed a damn thing so far as the EC is concerned.

I'd suggest that next time you think before you post; that's the advised order of operations.

Between the 353,831 dumpster votes and the 41% (6,112,463 of 15,015,700) of registered voters that didn't even bother to vote, there were likely enough votes to carry it.
But, no, they all thought "my vote doesn't matter". Facepalm

Texas:
Trump 53% 4,681,590
Clinton 43% 3,867,816
Gary Johnson 3% 282,524
Jill Stein 0.9% 71,307

And this happened all across the country so this is not all about you. So get off your high horse.

Florida is a clear-cut example with a margin of only 119,770 votes:
Trump 49% 4,605,515
Clinton 48% 4,485,745
Gary Johnson 2% 206,007
Jill Stein 0.7% 64,019
Darrell Castle 0.2% 16,393
Rocky De La Fuente 0.1% 9,071

total: 9,551,165 Registered: 12,863,773 (74.25%)

Well, you took a swipe at a group of which I'm a member. You don't like pushback? Mind your goddamned words a little closer.

And yes, in Texas, my vote would not have changed shit, with that 10%, so piss off. I voted my conscience. If you don't like it, not my problem. I don't owe you a thing, least of all an explanation.

Yeah, that doesn't address my point, but it's revealing to see that you'd rather cast this red herring than simply apologize for an insulting post that didn't, obviously, have much thinking put into it at all. It's all good; I've learnt something.

That is not a red herring, it is indicative of the problem. And you utterly miss the point that when people act as though there actions don't matter, they don't understand cumulative effects.

But go on being butt hurt that I point out that so many wasted their votes.

No, I got your point. You're missing my point that here in Texas, following the polls before the election, it was apparent to me that 700,000-vote margin was pretty much insurmountable by the weekend before the election.

And yes, answering this point about why I voted as I did here in Texas with a breakdown of Florida's voting is indeed a red herring.

Oh, I'm not butthurt about that. I just make change in the coin tendered. Don't like it? Maybe next time you'll use your head before you use your fingers. Call me a "stupid fuck" without considering the conditions under which I voted? You're going to get pushback. It ain't butthurt you're reading, it's backbone.

Don't like it? Tough shit. You made your bed with your intemperate language. Only a fool would think that such language wouldn't garner a response. I hadn't pegged you as a fool ... but clearly I need to revisit that opinion.

Here's your shovel. Keep digging.

I'm sorry this conversation has gotten to where it is. I think you are taking this a little too personally. The target audience was for those whose vote really could have made a difference.

I don't object to someone voting his conscience especially when realistically his vote won't make a difference.
I'm in Massachusetts and my single vote would make no difference as Massachusetts went almost 2-to-1 for Clinton.
No one person's vote makes any difference which means that every vote potentially makes a difference. But we can only really know that in hindsight.

If a lot of people don't vote because they think their votes don't matter then their non-votes matter. What if Democrats had stayed away in droves in Massachusetts? What if Democrats had cast their protest votes for Johnson?

When people don't vote realistically, they go into the Basket of Ignorables.

RE: Live electoral map
Yet if more people had a longer term scope on the subject and did consider yes their vote matters, more people who may desire it voting for a 3rd party(an actual party and not an independent candidate) can have more impact because if they actually had ever gotten that 5% of the vote, that would actually visually alter the next election based on established rules in a way that hasn't been done in since the early days of cable coverage tv politics.

The realism is that more than immediate impacts happen from choices.
