Lockheed Martin Pursuing Compact Nuclear Fusion Reactor Concept
Saw a news feed on Yahoo, but it had no details about what they did that was different. The video on youtube, which is linked at the site says something about a "high beta" concept which utilizes a higher fraction of the magnetic field pressure.
From my understanding, the difficulty in creating a useable fusion reactor is the stability of the plasma, the strength of the field is not necessarily the issue.
So I don't know if they have made a legitimate breakthrough, but this is what the news feeds have touted it as.

Some of what I've read about the engineering of flying cars made the point that they would have to be automated and coordinated with a centralized traffic system. You can't trust people to drive them.

Fortunately we'll have Google cars before flying cars. And with drone delivery we can have airborne drive-through.

Maybe I'll give this post stone age world a chance before I incinerate it after all.

Many can't handle horizontal, adding vertical manuvering to the mix won't help either.
