Hope is cheap. Anyone can hope for anything and many waste their precious lives hoping for the irrational. A flourishing, full and happy life is not achieved by hoping but by productive achievement and rational action now in this life. If you Think this world is so terrible, ask yourself why and don't look to an ancient story book for the answer. The answer I think you'll find is that a great many refuse to think and instead sit around hoping a magic person in the sky will take care of them. We have the tool to make this world a heaven. That tool is reason.

That's one of the dangers of religion: sitting around hoping, praying and fantasizing rather than getting off your ass and actually doing something.

I have a website here which discusses the issues and terminology surrounding religion and atheism. It's hopefully user friendly to all.

One of the dangers? Hah! I'd call it one of the realities.

Strange... I thought you, of all people, would be promoting the Christian bible. Huh

I'm a creationist... I believe that man created God.
