You really are morally bankrupt, aren't you? If he can say "do not murder" then he can damn well say "do not rape" and "do not own people as property". Stop making excuses for your thug god.

Atheism: it's not just for communists any more!

Which contradicts the idea of a perfect creator. A perfect creator would be able to create a creation without error, unless it wanted the error but again as fschmidt pointed out, God has no wants because it isn't conscious. So many contradictions.

I usually stay out of any bickering between atheists and theists about God on the fora, but...holy fuck.

There are theists here worth interacting with. This is not one of them.

There is only one really serious philosophical question, and that is suicide. -Camus

No doubt. Not all discussion is bickering. But the sort of thing that seemed to me to make up most of the discussion on the Amazon atheist forum, with each side mainly telling the other that they're idiots, is the bickering I mean, and I find nothing interesting or entertaining in it. That's the case even if one side is right and the other really is an idiot.

Every once in a while, we do get a theist who wants to discuss and does actually gain insight. I think everyone has a good experience when this happens. Shy

However, when communication is honed down to the drivel that Socialistview insists on spouting, the earnest effort to communicate simply becomes a futile mess. Dodgy

I kinda agree. I'm willing to engage until it gets boring.... SV has become boring to me... He's not trying and it shows. I've lost interest in talking to him now.

I find him somewhat interesting in a wtf kind of way, though, and his posts are much easier to read than those of someone like Tomasia, who blathers on and on at length. SV is at least short and pithy -- kind of like a zen koan, but without the redeeming social value.
