Looking for deconversion advice?
Oddly enough, given that I've been here nearly 2 years, I only just noticed this thread about previous beliefs.

Perhaps, given that the How Old Are You? and the Where Are You From? get an occasional upgrade, maybe the ex-beliefs thread should do too.

But I think there is something more we can do.

We often see people intro themselves as being new to non-belief and there are questions like... "Any ex-mormons here?"

So I'm starting this thread as a reference guide.
If it proves useful, perhaps the Mods can sticky it.

Post here, please, if you are willing to provide personal one-to-one advice e.g. share via PM regarding your own experience.

Note to advice-seekers:
We are not professional recovery advisers / medics / psychologists, any advice given will be from a personal perspective only. What you do with that advice is your choice.

So, folks, are you willing to help?

ETA: In seriousness to spirit of the thread, I should add that I prefer a balance of empathy and practicality in support of others. Shy

RE: Looking for deconversion advice?
My friends call me: Ashley
Background: LDS
Degree of deconversion pain: luckily, not as much as seems to be the norm for ex-mormons. Probably bc I was in a rural denomination and not heavily involved. Intellectually, I have moved on but emotionally I deal with some PTSD-like symptoms.
Type of support offered (practical / empathetic / sympathetic): All
