He is right wing nut, yes? If so then uttering such words is only to be expected.

What an ass.

If a birth defect alone is enough to justify killing an unborn child wouldn't it also be enough to justify killing a child that was born with a defect?

You see in your mind(it seems to me anyways) that you don't care that the unborn child has a birth defect...the fact it is unborn is enough to justify allowing the mother kill to it. Rubio takes a different perspective. He doesn't accept your premise that just because the child is unborn that justifies allowing the mother to kill it.

Should mothers be allowed to kill offspring that have birth defects? Rubio thinks not and what exactly is wrong with that?

You are just being a demagogue by attempting to conflate arguments for abortion rights with birth defects. Birth defects have nothing to do with whether or not a woman should have the right to kill her unborn child. So please stop pretending they do.

No it is not. Abortion rights shouldn't depend on whether or night the unborn child is defective. If that were true then it should be okay to kill defective children after they are born.

Rubio is actually being consistent in his position. You should applaud him for it. But instead you try to make it look like he is being the bad guy or the crack pot. You guys are the crack pots as evidenced by your absolutely retarded thinking.

But you were not referring to Rubio. You were seeking to refute an argument that was NOT made by Anjele.

It was a strawman..............and I repeat, an astonishingly dishonest one.

And you add in an ad hominem attack?

Not doing too well are you?

RE: Marco Rubio...no abortions for Zika infected pregnant women.
While I normally argue against abortion (not at all for banning it, but for providing every possible help to the mother so that the fetus can become a living, thinking human being capable of leading a happy life), health issues are in the area of no questions: it's better to terminate the pregnancy than to have a sick child who's going to cause more suffering than joy to the parents and likely won't grow up to be self-reliant if at all. I guess that's the difference between an atheist/humanist and a fundie.

I am not going to applaud consistent error.

He is the bad guy for putting the rights of something that is not a human being (a foetus) above the rights of a human (the woman).

You continue to equivocate 'baby' and 'foetus'. They are not the same thing.

Actually yes, before a certain age where we can deem a baby to be conscious. But humans are squeamish and we're not sure quite when a baby becomes conscious. My earliest memory was from 2 1/2, others have claimed earlier. But we do know that a foetus cannot be conscious if it hasn't properly formed a central nervous system. This is why there is a time limit by which an abortion must be made.

Infanticide has been accepted to varying degrees in cultures both past and present.

Not, however, in ours.

Strawman.

You have no more idea of what is going on in Rubio's mind then you know what is going on in ours.

Conflating abortion with infanticide? That's the best that you can do?

Are you fucking stupid? First of all, someone discussing a current political topic does not count as a demagogue. The only one here playing on emotions is you. So while you're looking up the definition of demagogue, look up hypocrite.

Second, birth defects and abortion rights have always been linked.

Facepalm

Please stop pretending that you have any degree of understanding this situation.

Your posts indicate that you:

Have no idea about the history of the arguments for and against abortion.
Have no idea about the practice of abortion and infanticide throughout history.
Have no idea what the word demagogue means. Or hypocrite.
Have no idea how to construct a proper analogy.
Have no idea how morality works, i.e. subjective/objective.

and lastly,

You have made no attempt to justify why a man should be allowed to tell a woman what to do with her own body.
