Marooned on RINO Island
This dude expresses my embarrassment at my voting life long registered party eloquently. ... Blush

As it was in the beginning is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
And I will show you something different from either
Your shadow at morning striding behind you
Or your shadow at evening rising to meet you;
I will show you fear in a handful of dust.

I feel much the same way!

I hit my 100th blog post lamenting the fact that the center has fallen to the Vandals.

But 'Holding the center' is what we need to do. The Left and the Right are morally and ideologically bankrupt.

Skepticism is not a position; it is an approach to claims.

Chas - I'd felt that way for a long time - just don't see it anymore...

We are in the "no compromise" era of American politics. The two competing ideologies are slash and burn all for god or let the government take care of everything. There is no middle ground to be found any longer - and neither side wants to entertain a peacemaker... Sad

Well, yes - but those of us who see that ARE the center. We need to re-group and take back the public square from the zealots.

Nice post to retire the blog on, looking forward to your brain droppings. But just because "Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold" don't mean you get to surrender your obligation to try and keep shit together and hold the centre. Wink

That's gonna be hard to do in this internet age of sensationalist vitriolic rhetoric. But we still gotta try.

RE: Marooned on RINO Island
Apparently I need to make more room on the island. "I'm a RINO" - Alan Simpson

"And for heaven sakes, you have Grover Norquist wandering the earth in his white robes saying that if you raise taxes one penny, he’ll defeat you. He can’t murder you. He can’t burn your house. The only thing he can do to you as an elected official is defeat you for reelection. And if that means more to you than your country when we need patriots to come out in a situation when we’re in extremity, you shouldn’t even be in Congress." (emphasis mine)

As it was in the beginning is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
