Mathematics - a new basis
See a picture that represents the relations of the two triangles

I think it's a riddle...

The image has no patterns. Each step is changes that do not represent a coherent linear sequence. 5, 6, 8 and 9 are all random changes the creator of the image decided to use. So I suppose he means '?' is an operation.

Yeah, but I can't find which one, it changes every time... maybe it's not a math riddle, maybe it's a linguistic riddle disguised as a math one... I don't know.

This is not new - look at his previous threads.

Skepticism is not a position; it is an approach to claims.
Science is not a subject, but a method.

I see, very weird indeed, thank you Chas.

Yes, it's an operation but it changes every time.

I know of a finite set of operations (+,-,x,/), so we can't fill in the blank for the other ones because it requires a operation I do not have knowledge of. So you have to think up a new operation to answer the question.

3?3=3 ? can simply be = : 3=3=3
3?3=4 ? could be [a+(1/3a)]
3?3=5 ? could be [a+(2/3a)]
3?3=6 ? is + (addition)
3?3=7 ? could be [a+(4/3a)] etc...
3?3=8
3?3=9 ? is x (multiply)
3?3=10
3?3=12

We can answer some of these with operations we have knowledge of.
To answer the other questions you need more operations or rather functions. Simple functions like these perhaps.

Anyway, it's not a very stimulating riddle if that's the case.

It's not a riddle (not in the conventional meaning of the word), it's something answerable only with his new math. Now I am actually reading his other thread... very funny. Even funnier he posted the same thing in many other forums. I kinda admire him... Smile
