Mississippi &school prayer
So... a lot of teachers and other school staff are adamant about continuing to promote religion. I've heard several success stories, but then there is stuff like this.

It started out when a parent complained (anonymously) to the school board. It snowballed and now bigger fish have picked it up.

I'll find the story that was first on some of those local stations; the comments are ridiculous.

http://www.msnewsnow.com has it somewhere. Can't find at the moment. Right now, their facebook page https://m.facebook.com/groups/181098818601345#!/WLBT3 is full of stories about the Brandon school band being asked not play a religious hymn at a school sport function.

RE: Mississippi &school prayer
If the prayer request board is still up, maybe a student with balls or ovaries of steel could request a prayer to allah, and the next day one to baphomet and the next day one to the FSM... I would love to be a fly on the wall to see the teacher's head explode.

Your link doesn't seem to work.

Here it is.

Skepticism is not a position; it is an approach to claims.
Science is not a subject, but a method.

RE: Mississippi &school prayer
What's funny about this is that a lot of people probably applaud the teacher for "doing what's right", but would flip the fuck out if someone wanted to post a bunch of pamphlets for evolution in their church.

Keep your churchy stuff at church and let kids learn at school. It's not that hard. Separation of church and state isn't meant to be a one-way-street.
