RE: Modern physics has brought us nothing
Translation: "Modern physics is so ubiquitous and works so flawlessly that I don't know all the different ways I use it every day."

Seriously, I can't get inside a grocery store without using modern physics half a dozen times in engine computers and traffic light sensors, nor out again without using it in barcode scanners and card swipers.

Edit: And then the door opens by itself...

I can't tell you fellow TTA forum members how enjoyable it is when someone who thinks they know lots of sciency stuff show up and make a statement like the OP did and who also probably thinks the TTA forum is full of dolts and idiots, then you guys drag the troll through the mud with intelligent replies and educated facts. It's the funniest damn thing.

I have and the coincidence is not accidental. If you are going to steal, steal from the best.

I was trying to get Pixel sunning himself in the Quantum Hall but couldn't get it to fit Seuss' style.

Glad you enjoyed.

You seem to assume a lot and way too soon.

btw I assume you mean fusion?

Nuclear fission is what happens in atomic reactors and weapons, where lager atoms are being split (hence, fission). Nuclear fusion is what happens inside stars (with smaller atoms being fused together by immense gravity, hence fusion), you poor, sad, ignoramus. Weeping

In define modern physics as starting when the village idiot einstein came 'to town'

with his more then ridiculous theories.

Thanks to einstein 'modern physics' stalled for about a hundred years.

Okay.

Next time you express that sentiment you probably shouldn't do so via a medium of communication wholly dependent on quantum mechanical descriptions of electron transport in order to be designed, constructed, and operated.
(you know - computer chips?)

Don't you know that computer chips were invented WAYYYYYYY before quantum mechanics.

See what happens? You've decreased the collective intelligence. I hope you're proud of yourself. Dodgy
