Monkey + human tool = cute
I follow the BioAnthropology News page on Facebook. Somebody posted a video of a Capuchin monkey using a (live) human hand as a tool to crush leaves. It's super cute.

Pushing the hand closed is adorable. I wonder how close some of theses primates came to a human like conciousness.

Theism is to believe what other people claim, Atheism is to ask "why should I".

That's a good question. I unfortunately know very little about monkey intelligence. I study apes more than anything else. I do know, however, that Capuchins, like the one in the video, use tools in the wild. They are obviously intelligent. They are the breed used as "helping hands" for handicapped people. It looks like operant conditioning is used to train them, but it still requires lots of intelligence to do what they do.

I'm rather relieved that it's a live, attached human hand.

I had a horrible sick feeling for a second there.
