Also, making five-against-four groove:

This one I've done on stage, once, with a pickup band -- I had just learnt the song, and they knew a bunch of Rush so we went for it.

At the end of it, the audience of five musicians had stopped shooting pool and were sitting at the foot of the stage, agaze. and it took about five seconds for them to start applauding. Monster riffs all throughout it --

Another one from the gigging days, when I was a bassist in a Jimi Hendrix tribute band -- my favorite from all our setlists. Jimi's estate blocks Youtube reproduction, so I have to go with this great (and very faithful) cover from Eris Johnson, a fantastic guitarist in his own right:

Oh, "Driving at Night" -- great stuff. His debut was full of great tunes.

Another one from the same album:

I went out and got a Butler Tube Driver based on his using one for this album -- and I still believe it's the best distortion pedal ever made.

I've never used one. I currently have the ibanez Gemini in my pedal board but i'm currently rocking a Marshall 6100, so I pretty much use the drives in the amp. I have put the overdrive pedal in my fx loop and just use it as a lead boost... Yeah, that debut album is excellent. ... I like his clean sound too!
