We already have a Catholic VP, Joe Biden, in the White House. Am I worried about Mormanism? Not really--they seem a bit less apocalyptic than evangelicals. Though Mormanism, only to be outdone by the Scientology, is a perfect example of people willing to believe almost anything if wrapped up into a religion. We have historical records showing Joseph Smith to be a convicted charlatan. The historicity of Jesus and the veracity of the particulars of his life can be debated, but there really was a Joseph Smith, and that guy was a fraud.

To me, they are both kind of crazy. Mormanism seems to have racism built into it. In order to fit the changes in culture, the modern church has 're-interpreted' the plain text meanings of teachings which describe Indians and races as having their color skin due to bearing a mark of sin from their ancestors. And of course the Mormons make it a true 'American' religion but making the Garden of Eden in Missouri. The entire religion is nothing but a crude plagiarism of Christianity. Their religious text, the book of Mormon, is filled with corny pseudo biblical sounding catch phrases which lead Mark Twain to call it 'chloroform in print' Smile

Otherwise, many of their religious practices are rather quaint and somewhat wholesome in a 1950's TV sitcom sort of way. That makes them somewhat goofy, but otherwise benign in my point of view.

It shows the level of.. what's the word? like idiotic but a trillion times worst, when people would rather vote for a guy with magic britches then a guy offering public healthcare.

I don't understand it either muffs. and I live here.

You are wrong about that. If you are black and want to work for the post office, they add at least 5-10 points to your test if you are a so called minority (black, hispanic, etc.). If you are white and you fail, you fail. If you are black and you fail, you might just still pass. So many jobs are like that these days. All the politicians will end up doing is giving certain groups ammunition and make it worse on anyone that is white and male.

You know the case of affirmative action being reasonable in context of the previous racial issues is being brought to the, supreme court this term? It may be knocked off in that essence.

It won't be overturned by the mainstream politicians. They know that affirmative action is a very easy way to buy votes. Likewise it is also a very good way to lose the votes if they take it away. It sucks, but it will probably stay a crime to be a white male.

Mainstream politicians? Umm okay but that's not what the court is made of.. They are political but judges aren't politicians. There is a very likely chance this makeup of the supreme court rules against Affirmative action being reasonable as racial reparations.

RE: Mormon and Catholic in the White House
I grew up in a Mormon boy scout troop....weird ass shit from time to time. We were praying instead of camping. We were being indoctrinated every day, to include the non-Mormon parents who were putting their boys in our troop. Like Scientology, these people are sneaky...and good at what they do. I have a feeling ol' Mitt will work his magic panties into his policies somehow. Go Obama...at least for the sake of not having Mitt in the White House!

RE: Mormon and Catholic in the White House
I had heard early on about mit's need to ban Pornography. Is this just urban legend or is there truth behind this?

As someone said earlier about Mormons and the 1950's....YEP! That nailed it...along with keeping wives in their place, blacks at thieir fountains and Rumpy Pumpy off TV!

I think Obama is bad, but i KNOW Romney/Ryan are WORSE.

As for the current VP being catholic...he's not motivated like Ryan is. I dont recall off hand any Anti Women bills...but Ryan has been at the heart of some very extreme Reproductive Rights legislation. Those two together scare the frak out of me! Old Joe is just coasting like Dan Quale, RYAN is young, has an agenda and wants to show the world of his agenda.

I have lot's of porn still hanging about somewhere. If Romney gets in and makes porn illegal, I will become a porn runner like Kennedy was a rum runner and then buy my way into politics. Then my family can be rich and powerful even without deserving it or actually working for it.
