Motorcycle Helmets and Condoms
It's frequently occurred to me that there are several parallels between helmets and condoms.

If properly used, they protect the user.

They should be up to the user to use.

It's none of the state's business if you're using one.

Here in Michigan we finally got the adult helmet law repealed. I prefer to ride without.... (yes, that's a double entendre..)

Furthermore -- If a state wants to have a mandatory helmet law - they should have a mandatory condom law.

Enforcement might be a bit of a sticky problem....

Do you think the helmet laws are similar in any way to seat belt laws?

My thinking goes if bikers don't have to wear helmets why should auto drivers have to wear seat belts?

How about not wearing a condom while riding?

I was about to say exactly what Full Circle said. Why have seatbelt laws?

I prefer fantasy, but I have to live in reality.

Why don't buses have seatbelts?

It becomes other peoples' business when the costs of the consequences fall to other people.

Which, when it comes to health, they do.

Because buses require special training and licenses to operate, and are subject to different driving rules and conditions...

I mean, it's at least reasonable to assume there are actual reasons for things being as they are, right?

If you think about it, the entire design of school buses needs to be rethought.
