Motorcycles
I love my motorcycle, and I love looking at motorcycles. However, I don't know a thing about them really. I can't work on them, or repair them, but I can drool over them.

What do you ride? Post pictures of your bike, or any bike that you think is sexy and you wish you could ride. Big Grin

Here's a photo of a Triumph 675r that I saw:

And here's what I ride, a Ninja EX300:

It's a really great bike, especially for an entry level motorcycle, pretty zippy when it needs to be, although, not as much torque as a bigger displacement engine.

And a really sweet looking 250 from a manufacturer that I have never heard of:

Minsk R250:

(Some really nice small bikes I'm now seeing! I really like the high, center mounted exhausts, because I think it makes the bikes look more streamlined.)

RE: Motorcycles
I used to ride a Low Rider back in the day when I was 18-20 yo some 30+ years ago now. After many near misses and having to lay it down and slide with it twice 'cause the fucking car drivers didn't see me and pulled out in front of me even when they had looked me right in the eye, I said fuck it. Three strikes and I'm probably out I figured. Still got the scars on my ankles from sliding even though I was wearing proper leather boots, probably wouldn't even be walking properly if I hadn't been. ... I really enjoyed riding but I wasn't willing to die for it.

As it was in the beginning is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
And I will show you something different from either
Your shadow at morning striding behind you
Or your shadow at evening rising to meet you;
I will show you fear in a handful of dust.

It's a pity that other road users soiled your enjoyment of motorbikes for you.

I completely understand where you're coming from though, I've only been riding nearly 4years and I've had too many near misses to count including one earlier this year where I came the closest I've ever come to actually wetting myself.

People who say that saying "you have to get back up on that horse" should be shot.

So, that first picture Near posted is my dream bike, same colour and everything, best looking bike in the world.

I ride a 250 ninja, does the job but you really see how slow 250cc is once you hit 100kmph (60mph). I've never ridden a 300, I think that would have that little added amount of power a 250 really needs at the higher speeds.

I've riden a 600 ninja, that thing had some acceleration. Reeving it down a big straight, look down literally 5seconds after I had turned around and was heading back and I was going like 140kmph which is instant lose of license territory.. opps.
Good fun though.

RE: Motorcycles
I don't know that I'd be as much of an enthusiast if I couldn't/didn't do my own work. For me, that's as much fun as riding. And frankly, a hell of a lot safer. Tongue

It's an '01 Suzuki Marauder 800. I bought it because it was cheap and my Honda wasn't running well and my intentions were to clean it up and resell it. But after riding it some I kinda got to liking it so I went to work customizing it. The tank is off a Hyosung Avitar, the seat is custom fit to the tank and most of the other stuff is bolt on. I've also had a number of pieces chromed and have replaced almost all of the zinc bolts with polished stainless. I've also rejetted the carburetors, added K&N air filters and free flowing exhaust, so it's quite a bit faster than it's stock peers. Last spring it took a top twenty five of show trophy in a local car, truck and bike show, which wasn't bad considering it was up against some one off customs.

Oh and, here's what it looked like when it was born...

I want a Moto Guzzi cafe racer. I'd prefer an older La Mans ...

... but I have no objection to the newer V7 Scramblers, either.
