Cube.
It's an awesome sci-fi movie with an autistic idiot-savant. You definitely need to see it.

RE: Movie with autistic characters
The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo - all those movies... the Swedish ones, anyway.
The main Character Lisbeth Salander... possibly has Asperger's. There is about one or two lines in the last film at her court hearing about that possibility, but nothing is definite. It's talked about in the books, extensively. She's amazing... writer Stieg Larsson stated in interviews that he based the character of Lisbeth Salander on what he imagined Pippi Longstocking might have been like as an adult.
There is no shame in not knowing. The problem arises when irrational thought and attendant behavior fill the vacuum left by ignorance. ~ Neil deGrasse Tyson Perception is up for grabs, and truth seems to be the one precious thing, that no one wants anyone to find. |

RE: Movie with autistic characters
Introversion does not necessarily equate to Autism... mmmm.... I have an idea for a thread
The PURPOSE of life is to pass on our DNA (from Darwin) The MEANING of life is the experience of living (from Frank Herbert) The VALUE of life is the legacy we leave behind (from observation) |

RE: Movie with autistic characters
The character from Drive doesn't seem to have asperger's. He seems just an introverted and enigmatic guy. AND I think the storyline sucked big time. It was really without substance. I hate this kind of movies.
Some movies that come to my mind: Being There, The Bothersome Man and Cube. "The way to see by faith is to shut the eye of reason." - Benjamin Franklin |

RE: Movie with autistic characters
Oh, goody! I can mention my beloved ReGenesis again. One of the main characters, Bob Melnikov, has Asperger's and both the writers and the actor do a great job of portraying him. It's not at all exaggerated, oversimplified or turned into a caricature, as way too often happens
