I had to remove some material from the last one because the professor in charge of my field school thought it revealed a little too much about what was found that day. They haven't published anything on it yet. Oh, well.

I got the OK to mention the find in vague terms. A paper detailing the fossil will be published soon, so I'll update the entry when the literature is released.

Here is the 15th blog. I describe a trip to the Laetoli dig site, which houses the famous 3.7 million-year-old hominin track way, and a visit to the massive Maasai market. I unfortunately didn't get any pictures of the market because the local people don't like their photos being taken by foreigners.
