It's more meaningful to me, but it may not mean much to the bereaved. I can't make my condolences religious because that would be insincere. Can someone here offer something poetic?

BTW: I'm new here. Is there already a thread about nonreligious condolences?

That's far more personal than telling someone their loved one is with a fiction. It's you sharing an emotional connection with them. After all, they're also sorry for their loss.
