My First Tattoo
So today I finally got the courage to get my first tattoo. Its one that I have been wanting or awhile and turned out much better than I was expecting. It has more meaning than being my favorite team. Growing up I was picked on a lot and had very few friends. My best memories were listening to the Mariners and Dave Niehaus and his passing, despite never meeting him, hit me pretty hard. This is my little tribute to Dave Niehaus and all those great memories.

Careful, ink is little potato chips, you can't have just one!

It kind of likes like a compass.
A moral compass perhaps?

Aspiring optimist
Eternal Pragmatist.
With the uncanny ability to see all sides in every argument.

Looks like a combination of a compass layout and a baseball.

RE: My First Tattoo
LadyJane, I am happy with my one and only Tatoo since 6 years Smile No potato ships reaction from my side heh

Chas: not always. I thought about having one for many years before I got it, and I chose something I really like, I drew it myself and my tatoo artist did a great job. I still love it.

I know many people think back at some point and regret they chose to have a tatoo. But those are the people who did not think about it properly, who were literally young and naive and careless.
I think it is simply important to really think about it, and actually wait some time before doing it. If you still want to have it after one or two years, sure, do it. But not out of a feeling: "I think I want a tatoo now". After all it either stays there forever or you will have to pay a shitload to get rid of it, and that will hurt and look worse than your tatoo.

Is that the only definition of a tattoo??

Because I have many tattoos. Some have significance, some more than others, and some have none. I just like getting inked.

No, it's a definition of a tattoo. You like tattoos, fine.
I've thought about tattoos, but I can't think of a good reason for me to get inked.

RE: My First Tattoo
OH MY GAWD!!!! AWESOME tat!!! Huge M's fan here, of course. I moved to Louisiana (long story) from Seattle 2 years ago, and miss going to many games at Safeco every season. In my house in Seattle, I did a huge (3 feet) mural of the compass rose on my oldest son's bedroom wall. Also, subscribe to MLB Extra Innings & still don't miss hardly any M's games.

I've been contemplating getting the compass rose tat for quite awhile as well, but not with Dave's "My Oh My" on it. That's a really nice touch. Can't wait to catch my next game at Safeco, so I can get my picture taken with the new statue of him. Dave really was the voice of summer to me, and to many, many others.

Where'd you get the ink done?

Also, people have lots of remarks about tattoos... I have a bunch of them, and I think the "permanent reaction to a temporary feeling" comment is a little crass.

I prefer to view my tattoos as bookmarks for many chapters of my life.
