I caught a garter snake (ribbon snake) in my yard last summer. I let my son hold it.

I was educated early on which animals are dangerous and which aren't, so I'm going to do the same. I love nature and have a great appreciation for it, so I want to pass that along to my kids.

On the contrary side, though, I do/have needlessly killed critters for no reason.

That's good. My parents were scared of reptiles and vermin so I was unlucky enough to have an overblown phobia of such things, and even still kind of do.

One can never be quite sure when dealing with a huge vicious varmint like this! Remember the bunny in the Holy Grail?

Ah, the remarks weren't so much chauvinistic, as uninformed of possibilities. Which would you rather see pop up out of a duck blind; her or some smelly, beer bloated, hairy, guy named, Jake?

Of course... I'm thinking it probably depends on one's mood. Wink

What if you soaked it in milk for a few days? BTW, you in the market to adopt a foxhound? They got an underground railroad volunteer transportation system where I could get it delivered to you.

That's just sexist. Misanthropy is the informed position.

As it was in the beginning is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
And I will show you something different from either
Your shadow at morning striding behind you
Or your shadow at evening rising to meet you;
I will show you fear in a handful of dust.
