Pretty sure the Bible says you shouldn't be preaching, then.

What's that? You're Muslim? Then why are you talking to strange men at all?

I think she's actually Mormon which explains why she's not into validating references, she has three other books choc full of bullshit and who wants to open that can of worms?

If according to the Bible all people have physical bodies in resurrection then you have no case.

What is your definition of death?
Are you asking about physical death? or spiritual death?

It is real.
(29-07-2015 04:12 PM)Stevil Wrote:  If it is real (rather than conceptual) then what does my soul weigh?

I don't know because God didn't reveal this information and no mortal man knows how to figure this out.
(29-07-2015 04:12 PM)Stevil Wrote:  How big is it?
The same answer. But according to the revelation from biblical God spirit bodies are much larger then human physical bodies.
(29-07-2015 04:12 PM)Stevil Wrote:  What is it made of?
from spirit matter.
(29-07-2015 04:12 PM)Stevil Wrote:  By what mechanism (explained in terms of the four fundamental fources of nature) does it attach itself to my body and cause my body to move?
God didn't give an answer to this question. I guess because this information is totally useless to those who do not know how to detect spirit.
(29-07-2015 04:12 PM)Stevil Wrote:  How can I measure if a person has a soul or not?
If person is alive she or he has spirit body inside of physical body.
If it is dead body of flesh and bones it has no spirit.
Well, there you go.

Thanks very much for responding to each and everyone of my questions as best as you could. Much appreciated.

Which comes first? And why?

There is only one really serious philosophical question, and that is suicide. -Camus

I kinda thought that too when she said "you will have the opportunity to accept Christ in spirit prison".

I've had a couple of interesting conversations with Mormon missionaries and the idea of a "spirit world" after death, if I recall correctly it was after the rapture and whatnot, I may be wrong, but anyway we all get a second chance to accept that it's true.

My answer was, "Sweet! If I find myself in a weird spirit world after I die, I'll actually have good evidence that you all aren't crazy and my eternity is golden. I can still think you all are batshit crazy at this point though, and for good reason. But thanks for the out."

They agreed that this was true.
Mormon theology is insanely logical at times... Thumbsup

But now I have come to believe that the whole world is an enigma, a harmless enigma that is made terrible by our own mad attempt to interpret it as though it had an underlying truth.

That is all.
This thread is not about whether the Bible is true or not. I am not interested in this kind of useless discussion.

Wait, wait, wait, wait...

This thread is a discussion about what may or may not be in the bible and whether we can determine the truth of the bible is a "useless discussion?"

It's central to the question. If the bible isn't true then any truth claims within must be at least viewed with a critical eye, if not rejected outright. That's not relevant?

Smacks of a misdirection. Dishonest.

There is no "I" in "team" but there is a broken and mixed up "me."

What shouldn't I preach according to the Bible?

Anything, according to the New Testament.
