Congratulations Observer, now your name will be doubly true.

I'm not a non believer, I believe in the possibility of anything. I just don't let the actuality of something be determined by a 3rd party.

RE: My daughter is born!!
Thanks for your kind words everyone.

Mother and child are doing fine. However, she was in labour for 19h. She was given spinal sedation the help her relax, different types of medication to help her cervix soften up and IV to prevent dehydration. Linde was monitored in vitro via a small wire attached to her head. They also had to "snip" the lower part of the vagina (can't find a proper translation to that procedure) to give room to the child. When Linde was born, she also had to much fluids in her lungs, that was cleared with an aspiration tube. Both where pretty exhausted after birth. Linde was put in an incubator for a while to warm up and recuperate.

I am so glad I live in 2011 in a peaceful and prosperous country. If this would have happened in 1911 I am sure I would be living a hell right now. It is only through the combined effort and knowledge of Doctors, scientists, nurses, midwives and engineers that mother and child are doing great now. Respect!

Glad to hear the few complications turned out ok.

In case you're curious, the "snip" is called an episiotomy. (Think I spelled it right)

Just visiting.

They did! Thanks Stark Raving.

Episiotomy is indeed the correct term. The wound is healing now. Call me weak or a sissy if you like but, I can't unsee that cut! Ill get over it in time I’m sure...

I read somewhere that in certain religious doctrines woman are refused sedation at childbirth because they have to suffer for the original sin of Eve. If I ever encounter a theist stating that to my face ill cram his holy book up his ass! Angry

Add a pound of salt and a bottle of iodine to that to that gel.
