Thumbs Up My day with Dawkins
As some of you might remember, a friend of mine is the CEO of the Dawkins Foundation and she hooked me up with two VIP tickets to his book signing and lecture. I just got back and it was a great day. We had Cuban sandwiches together for lunch, chatted for about 20 minutes and he personalized his inscription for me and my wife in our copies of A Brief Candle in the Dark. Then we had front-row seats for his lecture and Q&A. He literally was six feet in front of me. Also, Dr. Herb Silverman was on hand, serving as MC. Great day!

When I first met Dawkins, I shook his hand and asked if we could take a picture. He said of course and I held up my phone with my arm around him and he said, "Oh! A selfie!"

Yes, he can be controversial and even an ass at times, but I don't give a shit. He was incredibly patient, kind and gracious the entire day.

That's totally awesome!!!

But as if to knock me down, reality came around
And without so much as a mere touch, cut me into little pieces

Skepticism is not a position; it is an approach to claims.
Science is not a subject, but a method.

Where's the pics?

I've just recently grown rudimentary legs and made the move from water to land.
