My drug trial ended today.
Hi guys.

As the title says, my trial is over. No more $25.000.00 worth of drugs per week.

While this offers the opportunity for me to regain my mind, lost since mid 2014, I await the outcome.

"Was the drug simply keeping my cancer at bay, or was it a cure?"

Nobody knows. Least of all me. So while not carrying the bag around 24/7, which is a good thing, my bag/safety net has been removed.

Now comes the tedious and painful monitoring of my situation. Were I to show the time table of biopsies coming my way, one may find it difficult to imagine. Next week I have 3 invasive tests alone.

I am now looking down the barrel of a 3 month time frame. If the cancer does not show up within this period, I may have been lucky. If it shows itself, I am literally out of options. Unsure if sheer willpower alone is enough to defeat my metaphorical mantis shrimp cancer. There is no more medicine or procedure to which I can now turn. I've had all the medicine and any procedure would cause immeasurable suffering followed by death over a 4 week span.

I must endure the hydromorphone so as to keep my pain in check. The only other options my specialists could offer me were basic stretches. Imagine their surprise when I, in frustration having seen their basic stretching routines, dropped coldly into the splits before them.

"You want me, to do these basic exercises to control my pain?" To say they were nonplussed would be an understatement.

So tonight presents a situational feeling of unease and uncertainty. I just want to sleep and forget it.

I will leave my signature as it is for a couple of weeks in the hope the drugs are cleansed from my body.

As I have said elsewhere on a number of occasions, I am very grateful of the patience shown towards me by most here. These past years have presented a very heavy burden for which I alone was left to carry. At least in person. Online I have had you.

Many thanks. Dale

Stay positive Banjo. Hope those chemicals have done what was needed.

Thinking of you.

Thanks mate.

I ended up giving two music classes to the 2 young guys who moved across from me. I teach them when bored and they are both very keen. They now practice all the time.
Took my mind off things for a bit. Smile

Soon I hope to sleep.

Thanks mate. Dale

Thank you. Hopefully my small contribution to science has added a positive path to travel.

I am lucky in that way. I just made a choice to get off my butt and do something useful. Considering they are a meter away, it was hard to justify not making an effort.

I hope you are feeling okay.

Cheers. Dale
