It is implied they would be banned permanently which is why Jayne left. She outright asked if she could stay here and was told no.

Oh shit. I didn't realize that.

Are you OK with us posting on TTA if it is not for the purpose of defending SD?

I would not be OK with this.

Re-read our rules:

"Rule 6 - Regarding leaving the forum: The punishment for apostasy is death!"

You have been warned.

Disingenuous to the core, that bunch. And no wonder they stay in their little malevolent echo chamber -- they couldn't survive a minute in the real world, in the light of day.

That was not a trick. The person who asked about KC's beliefs was completely sincere in doing so. Other people responded to this in what I thought was an unfair way, but there was no trickery involved. SD is not a monolithic group and we have our individual approaches to things.

OK, I can see where that could be the case. I have actually seen that same sort of thing done intentionally in another forum, which led me to say that. I see now that it wasn't a fair assumption on my part.

Not sure what that means, but I will read on in the thread...

That is called faith. You believe those things to be true without evidence.

Every thought system has assumptions. It is common for people to be unaware of their own assumptions because they assume them without thinking about them.

You assume that truth must be established by evidence. What is the evidence for this?

It has a proven track record of producing results. No other method does.

I gather the list is long and that much of the list is in fact derived rather than axiomatic, for example specific dogmas may have been derived from Biblical sources. Do you feel that none of the dogmas can be removed from your set of axioms without altering your epistemological framework? Do you feel that at least some can be accepted as derived rather than axiomatic?

I think that most Catholic dogmas can be derived from the axioms:
Truth can be found through both reason and revelation.
The Catholic Church is the legitimate source of revelation.

I wasn't involved in the linked thread and haven't so far spotted derision I could specifically connect to you, but I wish you and your family all the best.

Thank you for your kind wishes and your welcome.

However, I dismiss your axiom of truth by revelation because there is no evidence to support it. No verifiable truth has ever been revealed.

I wonder how long it will be before Taq, who systematically replies to each post as he reads them, will realise that he is replying to someone who has been instructed never to return.

Read the whole thread before replying, you daft twat!

How do you reconcile that with your statement about being unhappy with things the Pope said?
