(04-01-2014 09:00 PM)Jayne Wrote:  So the mods thought it over and decided that they are not going to restrict SD members from posting here. But I really don't want to now. As well as the initial reasons the mods gave me, people here have now accused me of lying and I cannot stand the way you talk about the SD staff.

When Suscipe Domine first started there were people who said that I should not be allowed to join it. Kaesekopf insisted that I had a right to post there as long as I followed the rules, just like anyone else. He took some flack for that position but he stood by me. And at that time we had had an unfriendly relationship on another forum so he was not doing me a personal favour. He did this because it was the right thing to do.

All the horrible things you have said about him are completely untrue. Kaesekopf is an honourable man whom I have come to like and respect over the past year. I like and respect all of the moderators on SD. None of them intimidate me. It is actually pretty difficult to intimidate me. I follow their rules because I respect them as people and I respect authority in general. (I have a lawful good alignment. I am a paladin, not like that Jayne with the hat.)

I just don't think I can hang out and be friendly with people who talk the way you do about people I like. I'll keep checking for PMs if anybody has any questions for me or needs my help, but this is not a place where I can be comfortable.

Okay, but when you came here (and were treated very well), you said you were here to defend the SD forum, the entire forum, and now after you left (having been ordered to, rather than of your own accord) you come back and say that you don't want to be here because folks here have spoken ill of that Kaesekopf fellow.

I am here because, if people are going to keep criticizing SD on this forum, then I want to defend it. So the case that I am making is that we are no more close-minded on SD than anyone else.

How many people here think that you are wrong about what you believe? I would guess that at least 90% of you believe what you believe. Almost as many believe that those who disagree with you are wrong. And I expect a very small minority are open to changing their minds about any of their strong beliefs.

The only thing that is different about SD is that we openly say that we are right and those who disagree with us are wrong. We openly say that we are not prepared to listen to people who challenge our beliefs. We are just more honest than most people about such things.

It just doesn't seem to add up. It doesn't seem so very ingenuous to me.

It's Special Pleadings all the way down!

You can probably get the whole story from Girly's links (by clicking on his photos), but if I remember right, the authorities were closing in on him, so he decided to take the coward's way out, and convinced his "flock" to join him. Those who weren't convinced were forced.

For some of us, its one of those current events that you don't forget……kinda like the Branch Davidians Raid in Waco, TX, or those ones that killed themselves with the capes over their faces when the Hale-Bopp ? comet came around. Cults are creepy.

You just get kinda get a smell for it after a while. Kaesekopf's got that scent from what Girly's sniffed.

I married a believer, when we first moved to Charlotte and I was a newlywed, I decided to give church a try to make hubby happy. The whole way there I kept telling him "just as long as they don't make me drink the koolaid-I will be ok". Sure enough, they hold the door open for us and say "hey- we have some drinks over there, help yourself" I shot my husband that deer in the headlights look and I think he might have pushed me to get me to go inside. I was in shock. Later they offered a red communion drink…I was ready to run. LOL. we still laugh about 'the koolaid' and the whole church experiment didn't last long.

Did jones drink it and is dead also?

That kinda narcissism and megalomania never really dies. It just shows up in different incarnations.

Now that you mention it, "Käsekopf" is German for "cheese head". Laughat

They also use German officer classifications under their names.

Really a creepy site to go on. How people like this function in the real world is beyond me. Unsure

RE: My short time on Suscipe Domine
I generally like Jayne. I don't like that she seemed friendly and happy enough to be here, but then went back and said not so nice things about us. I do understand why she did, but it still isn't right.

I don't know what is the real Jayne - the one who was having nice conversations with us, or the one who thinks we are bad company.

If she was a personal friend in real life, I would expect an apology, and that would make it fine. I don't bear grudges. I do hope Jayne gives a little thought to what happened, and why she would be motivated to say one thing here and another there. It is not honest.

Besides disgust with their Obergruppenfuhrer CheeseHead, I mostly feel sadness for Jayne.

Gee. How magnanimous and gracious of them! Thumbsup

I mean, who would of thought they had any say in the matter in the first place??? Shocking That's where most of us here are shaking our heads in shock and disbelief.
